Johnson City Doughboys Takes High-Scoring Game From Pulaski River Turtles, 8-7

Bats were blistered as Johnson City Doughboys defeated Pulaski River Turtles 8-7 on Wednesday.

Pulaski River Turtles got things started in the first inning. Pulaski River Turtles scored one run when Cameron Leary singled.

Johnson City Doughboys took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Joe Vetrano grounded out, scoring one run and Cade Sumbler singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Miguel Fulgencio took the win for Johnson City Doughboys. The lefty surrendered one run on three hits over two innings, striking out two and walking zero. Walker Trusley and Brett Banks entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Banks recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Johnson City Doughboys.

Kevin Eaise took the loss for Pulaski River Turtles. The hurler allowed nine hits and six runs over five innings, striking out five.

Jan Figueroa started the game for Johnson City Doughboys. Figueroa went four innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out five

Johnson City Doughboys collected ten hits. Steven Ondina and Sumbler all managed multiple hits for Johnson City Doughboys. Ondina led Johnson City Doughboys with three hits in five at bats.

Pulaski River Turtles racked up ten hits. Ross Lovich, Garrett Rice, and Leary all had multiple hits for Pulaski River Turtles. Lovich went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Pulaski River Turtles in hits.
