Jones hits a jumper at the buzzer, Radford beats High Point

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) — Carlik Jones scored six of his 14 points after regulation, including the winning jumper as time expired, and Radford beat High Point 78-76 in overtime on Wednesday night.
Randy Phillips made a layup and Jones followed with a jumper to give Radford (14-8, 7-2 Big South) a 74-71 lead with 1:51 left in OT, but Andre Fox tied it on a 3-point play 11 seconds later. After Jones hit two free throws, Denny Slay’s jumper made it 76-all with 48 seconds to go. Radford’s Ed Polite Jr. missed a jumper but it went out of bounds off the Panthers with 21 seconds left, setting up Jones’ winning pull-up jumper from the left elbow.
Jahaad Proctor led High Point (10-10, 5-4) with 28 points — one shy of his career best. The Panthers had their three-game win streak snapped.
High Point led by as many as 14 points in the second half, but the Highlanders used a 16-0 run to take their first lead, 63-59 with three minutes left in regulation, since early in the game. Proctor’s driving layup with 1.7 seconds left forced overtime.
