Mathew Alexander Snow, age 34, of Palmyra, Virginia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.

Mathew was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and was the beloved son of Angela Snow and the late James Nelson. He attended Cave Spring High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy. Mathew enlisted in August 2012 and was honorably discharged in 2021 due to medical reasons.

 

He will be deeply missed by his cherished daughter, Lily Snow; his wife, Maria Lutjen; his mother, Angela Snow; his brother, Nicholas Snow; his sister, Serena Snow; and his grandparents, Carl and Linda Criss.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, September 18, 2026, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, 5550 Bagging Plant Road, Dublin, Virginia 24084. Military honors will be rendered at the beginning of the service.
There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
