Meet This Week’s Patriot: Charles (Rodney) Whitaker
Charles (Rodney) Whittaker served in the U.S. Air Force from March 1969 to August 1989. He is a jet engine mechanic and worked on A-7D Corsair11, General Dynamics FB 111, Boeing B52 bomber, Boeing KC135 Strato Tanker, C130 Hercules and B1 Bomber. He is a Vietnam veteran and served in Korat, Thailand and Taichung, Taiwan. He and Brenda Cochran Whittaker have been married for 51 years and they raised two daughters. He attended Dublin High School until his senior year and graduated from Portsmouth High School in New Hampshire. After retiring from the Air Force as MSGT, he got a job with Warner Lambert in Dublin. After two years he transferred to the Tetra Division as a maintenance mechanic and retired after 22 years. He now resides in Pulaski.

We ain’t brothers but I’ll always think of him as my brother. We been close for many a year. And I’m proud of this man.

My daddy’s favorite brother..they w@ant only brother but best friends…He is such a great lovely man…my favorite uncle…I am so proud of u Rodney…..and I know my daddy was too..his wife is so sweet ..and his daughter Rhonda is too..
