Memorial service set for Lillie Virginia DeHart

Lillie Virginia DeHart, age 74 of Dublin, died April 13, 2018.  She was born on April 3, 1944 in Montgomery Co., and was the daughter of the late Anna Simpkins DeHart and Ray V. DeHart.  Lillie was a unique and talented person who quietly touched many lives in her journey through life.  She grew up in Radford, and graduated from Radford High School in 1962. Her Radford High School classmates would remember her as a brilliant young lady, often wise beyond her years.  She read constantly and could teach herself any craft or hobby that caught her interest. Lillie taught herself to sew and her beautiful handwork with yarn and fabric became a source of pleasure her whole life.  She was so gifted that she could design and construct 17th and 18th century costumes by simply looking at a picture.  Lillie worked for many years at Miller Alterations in Blacksburg with the reputation of being able to repair just about any piece of clothing that was reparable and to work magic on wedding dresses of every size and shape. Drama and acting were two of her lifelong passions.  Many people in the area remember her best as a member of the cast in the outdoor drama “The Long Way Home”.  What they may not know is that Lillie could perform just about any part in the play if needed.  She was a part of that show for the 25 years that it was presented near the home of Mary Draper Ingles.  Lillie loved her beautiful cats, her co-workers and her Radford High School friends and looked forward to class reunions each year.  She will be missed by everyone who knew her. A memorial service will be held Friday, July 27, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Radford. Online condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.seaglefuneralhome.com  Arrangements by Seagle Funeral Home, Pulaski.  540-980-1700
