Obituary for Adris Albert “Al” Davis, Sr.

davis adris albertAdris Albert “Al” Davis, Sr., 72, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at his home in Fairlawn, Va. Al was a true patriot and family man. After graduating from Bramwell High School, he served his Country in the U. S. Marine Corp and the Army Reserves, receiving two Purple Hearts during the Vietnam War. He was a member of VFW Post #1184, American Legion Post #58, and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church (FMBC). Al was a faithful and active member and served as an usher and trustee at FMBC.

Al was preceded in death by his wife, Constance T. Banks-Davis; his parents, Albert and Blanche Davis; brother, Ervin Ray Davis; and sister, Maxine “Len” Davis.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Michael Kelly, Adris “Hootie” Davis, Jr., and Andrew Primm; daughters, Yonnie Stinson, Maria Davis-Harris (Tony), Somer Davis, Darnisha Primm, and Kendra “Kenny” Wright (Quentin); 16 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Gene “Chuck” Davis (Terry); sister, Minnie “Pam” Davis; significant other, Emily Doucette; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022, at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin, Va. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the Fairlawn Church of God with Pastor Richard Goodman of First Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will begin following the service.
