Obituary for Alice Carol Slack Stevens
Alice Carol Slack Stevens, 94, of Pulaski, lovingly known as “Moose” and “Mamaw”, passed away early Sunday morning October 14th 2018 at her home. She was born in Belle, WVA August 3rd 1924 the daughter of the late John Clifford Slack and Margaret Louise Bleau Slack. She was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Whitfield “Bob” Stevens, brothers John and Cliff Slack, sisters Annabell Chandler Ramseur, Louise Tedrow and Betty Baron and her beloved grandson Chris Stevens.
Surviving are her sons and daughters in law, Matt Stevens and Beverly Staples-Rivers, Skip Stevens and John and Ginger Stevens.
Grandchildren, John Robert Stevens, Anna Stevens and Carey Stevens.
Many nieces and nephews and special friends, Jack Byrd, Dean Wilson, Zetta Arnold, Pam Freeman and all her girls that took such loving care of Alice during the last years of her life, and sister-in-law, Vera Slack.
The Family will receive friends at Stevens Funeral Home Wednesday the 17th from 10am till 1pm. A graveside service will be in Oakwood Cemetery at 2pm officiated by the Rev. Melissa McNair-King and Dr. Olin Whitener. In lieu of flowers Alice requested memorials be given to the Pulaski County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1046 Dublin, VA 24084.
Arrangements are by Stevens Funeral Home and Mullins Funeral Home and Crematory.

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of your momma. She was such a sweet little spitfire and I came to care for her deeply when she was at Pulaski Health and Rehab. I have funny and fond memories of her that I will cherish always. You fellas are definately in my thoughts and prayers. May God richly bless and comfort you! Much love sent to you all!!💞

I am so sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. Now all of Grandmother and Grandfather Slack’s children have passed. I loved them all dearly and I will miss them. Your mother’s humer and quick wit will be remembered by the family too. Her devotion to health care of others will be remembered by the residents of Pulaski too.
