Obituary for Alice “June” Mabe Miller

Alice “June” Mabe Miller, 89, longtime Bland County resident, went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2021 in Willow Springs, NC. Born January 1, 1932 in Wythe County, VA, she was the daughter of Thomas M. and Maude Blanche “Dolly” Jackson Mabe.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Matson Miller, Jr.; her parents ; step-mother, Dora Ethel Mabe; two brothers, Terrence “Terry” and Franklin “Dodie” Mabe; sisters, Dorothy “Dee” Summerville-Estes, and Beverly “Anne” Rose-Bane, and step-sister Helen Ingram (Ray).

Survivors include her daughters: Sarah M. Davis (Terry), Melissa “Missy” Miller, and Joy M. Tibbs, recently deceased, (Darrell). Her grandchildren and their families: Thomas, Elizabeth, and Daniel Davis; Carrie Ingle (Russ), Ryleigh, Ellie, and Olivia Ingle; Chris Pifer, Jessica Pifer, Ben (Leah), Sophia and Sawyer Pifer; Joshua Tibbs (Gina), River and Griffin Tibbs; and Caleb Tibbs. She is also survived by her sisters, Jackie Hedrick, Frances “Tot” Waddell, and brother James C. Mabe (Wanda); and numerous Mabe and Miller nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Bland Leyburn/St. Matthews Lutheran Church in Bland, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 1:00 p.m.
