Obituary for Betty Lou Smith Rupe

Betty Lou Smith Rupe, age 88 of Draper, died peacefully at her home in Draper on Friday, March 17, 2023.  She was born in Pulaski on March 24, 1934, and was the daughter of the late Thelma Marie Sharitz Smith and the late Weston Whitfield Smith.  Betty was a Christian by faith and attended Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pulaski.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Ellwood Rupe, a brother; Larry Gene Smith, and a special nephew, Timmy Simmons.  Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa (Jay) Turner of Pulaski:  two brothers; Jimmy Smith of Pulaski, Dean Smith of Laurel, MD:  sister; Mary Ann Simmons of Laurel MD.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with Pastor Terri Sternberg officiating.  Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.  The family will receive friends Wednesday morning from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.
