Obituary for Caroline Regina Lewis Manns

Caroline Regina Lewis Manns, 84, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at her home in New River. She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a graduated of the Christiansburg Institute. Caroline retired as a nursing assistant from St. Alban’s Hospital where she worked for over 20 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Regina Lewis; daughters, Dawn and Christine; brothers, Ray Whitfield, Rodney, James “Waldeck”, and Leander Lewis; and sisters, Valerie Morton, Eliza Charleton, and Christine Wright.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Charles Manns, Sr.; daughter, Charlene Horne; sons, Charles. Manns, Jr., and Donald Manns; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Walter (Sandy) Lewis, Anthony Lewis, and Courtney (Terri) Lewis; sisters, Laverne Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends from 12 until 1 p.m. on Monday, March 13, 2023, at First Missionary Baptist Church in New River. Funeral services will begin at 1 p.m. with Rev. Montie Brown officiating. Interment will follow in New River Cemetery.
