Obituary for David Keith Spivey
David Keith Spivey, 86, of Pulaski died peacefully in the Pulaski Community Hospital, Sunday, April 14, 2019. He was born in Bramwell, WV on July 19, 1923 and was the son of the late Hiram C. and Leola C. Spivey. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Henry Lee Spivey.

Wife of 63 Years – Lavonne “Bonnie” Spivey
Son & Daughter-In-Law – David A. and Linda B. Spivey, Pilot, VA
Daughter & Son-In-Law – Melanie S. & Russell M. Turner, Pulaski
Sue E. Spivey, Harrisonburg, VA
Grandchildren – Michael Turner
Dustin Turner
Ellen Spivey
Great-Grandson – Diego Turner
David graduated from Bramwell High School and McClain’s Business school in the great state of West Virginia as well as New River Community College. He was a Korean War Veteran and a supervisor at Appalachian Power Company, where he was employed for 41 years. David was also very active in the Presbyterian Church, serving as a long-time elder and deacon, as well as First Presbyterian Church’s Presbytery representative. Although living in Pulaski since 1964, David’s heartfelt devotion was to all things West Virginia, particularly West Virginia University. This was especially challenging with all you Virginia Tech fans flaunting about.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 17th at 11:00 AM from the First Presbyterian Church, Pulaski with Rev. Melissa McNare-King officiating. There will be a brief visitation with the family after the service at the church. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM from the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery, Dublin. VA, with VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the First Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 824, Pulaski, VA 24301.

Mr. Spivey will be missed. I miss him writing quotes on my board at the Pulaski YMCA. Prayers for his wife and family.
