Obituary for Dorothy “Dot” Donna Jones Palmer
Dorothy “Dot” Donna Jones Palmer, age 94 of Pulaski, died peacefully Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center. Dot was born on December 18, 1926 in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Hallie Jane Cline Jones and David Arthur Jones.
Dorothy loved her Lord and Savior and was a “charter” member of Faith Bible Church in Pulaski Va. As a strong witness to her children, Dorothy obtained her GED at the age of 66. She continued to tell people that you were never too old to learn and urged others to continue their education. Dorothy loved to travel and took many trips with Sunshine Tours, Abbott Trailways and her daughters. She was always ready for the next adventure.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Billy Richard Clark Palmer, a son Frank Crockett. She is survived by her children: Billy (Cindy) Crockett of Louisville, KY, Donna “Jan” Caddell of Monks Corner, SC, Susie (Marvin) Melvin of Dublin, Kathi (Richard) Surber of Pulaski, and Richard (Pam) Palmer of Dublin. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and Great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. A special friend, Shelby Cole.
Funeral services will be held Friday July 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Bible Church in Pulaski, with the Rev. Jim Linkous officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday at the church from Noon until 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made in her memory to the Faith Bible Church 110 Lagrange Street Pulaski, VA 24301.

I am so sorry for your loss. I was blessed to meet this precious lady. She was such a blessing. Sweetest lady ever. She loved JESUS and her family. Her children were such a blessing to her.
You all will be in my thoughts and prayers in the days to come.
We will see this precious lady when we get to HEAVEN.

Kathy, so sorry to hear about your sweet Momma. She was a precious soul. My Mom loved their little phone chats. And, your Mom would send my Mom the most beautiful cards. Prayers for God’s peace, comfort, and love to cover you and all the family. And, may sweet Dot now RIP! Love you Kathy…but, God loves you more.
