Obituary for Dot Phillips Lancaster

Dot Phillips Lancaster, 87, passed away at her home in Dublin on Saturday, December 31, 2022. She retired from Kollmorgen. Dot was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Elizabeth Phillips; sisters, Barbara Phillips, Ann Baker, and Helen Monroe; brother, Davis Phillips; and her first husband, John H. Midkiff, Jr.

Survivors include her husband, Lowell L. Lancaster; daughters, Jonna Midkiff McGraw (Gary Joyce), and Cindy Midkiff Hartmann; stepdaughter, Elizabeth B. Lancaster; stepson, Jonathan P. Lancaster (Janet); grandchildren, Jonathan McGraw (Olivia) and Aaron Hartmann (Steph); three great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, John R. Phillips, PhD; dear friend, Diane Lovern; and many other relatives and friends.

Dot was a hard worker all her life. She could fix anything that was broken and was a creative problem solver. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She enjoyed going on cruises, dancing, sitting on the beach, gardening, farmers’ markets and being with her family.

The family will receive friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Dennis Kinnan and Jim Holt officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford.
