I was blessed to have known and worked with Dr. Pound for many years as did my husband through the Pulaski Sheriff’s Department. He was more than a co-worker. He came to our son’s wedding in Tennessee. He used the life God gave him to serve Him and others.

Dr. Pound was my principal all through my elementary school years and through my student teaching at Dublin Elementary School. He was a mentor and a cheerleader for my success. He protected me and watched over me during the early years of integration in Dublin. I will always hold dear his memory.

I cherish the years I worked at DES in food service and Dr. Pound was our principal. We especially loved his interactions with the cafeteria staff and students when we were allowed to dress up for Halloween. My mother, Bessie Weaver, my sister’s, Betty Joyce Quesenberry and Louise Dalton, all deceased, worked with Dr.Pound many years at DES.

I knew him as Mr. Pound, Dublin Elementary School, for my seven years there. Always a kind and gentle man, I knew he loved “his kids,” always making us feel safe in our environment.
Not a single time did I ever drive by his house that I didn’t think of him, as he made an indelible impression on me and my life. He exuded who he’s was; he didn’t have to express it verbally. It was obvious he loved God, Family, country and his fellowman.
I KNOW he R.I.P., because the man I knew as a child was always at peace with himself. Until we all meet again, he’s joined Heaven’s Choir. My sincere condolences to his family during this time. What a blessed life he lived!

I went to Dublin Elementary grades 1-7. Mr. Pound was an excellent principal. He was a gentleman and so kind and gentle. He was a fine example of a caring, Godly, compassionate man. He was always so very pleasant and had a great personality. Our loss is Heaven’s gain. I just loved him! My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

Deepest Sympathy to the Pound family. I was blessed to receive, as were many, the gracious display of Dr. Pounds love when I was in elementary school. The greater blessing was being able to visit him with my Mom, and my own children so my kids, too, could meet him. In Dr. Pound’s book, he said, “We need each other…the path is too dangerous to do it any other way.” As God Himself has promised, when a man humbles himself and submits to God, he will bear fruit….and enjoy the riches of His kingdom. We rejoice that Dr. Pound is in glory, and the hope we have of being united with him again there. Peace and comfort to his family and dear friends as you grieve.

Dr. Pound was my principal at DES. He was so nice and treated everyone equally. Many years later he gave a wonderful talk to my weight loss program. It was very inspiring and entertaining, we enjoyed it very much. We were very blessed to know him.
