Ellen was a Godly woman and spent her entire life helping others and putting others before herself. She received her RN cap from Medical College of Virginia (1952) and served in that capacity until she retired. Even after retirement, Ellen would respond to calls for help from her friends and neighbors. She often said that her purpose in life was to help people, and she certainly fulfilled that purpose. Even though she herself was in pain, she always answered a call from others.

Services will be held on Friday, September 9, at Pulaski First Church of the Brethren, 1749 Newbern Road, Pulaski 24501. Visitation is at 10:00am followed by the Funeral Service at 12:00pm with internment at 2:00pm at Highland Memory Garden, Dublin, VA

The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, contributions in her name should be sent to the Pulaski First Church of the Brethren. Ellen loved her church family and was a lifelong member of that church.
