Obituary for Frankie Whitaker Miller

Frankie Whitaker Miller, age 89, of Pulaski, passed away on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on November 2, 1933, in Tazewell County, VA to the late Hobert McKinley Whitaker and Fannie Belle Crockett Whitaker.  She was a member of the Newbern Community Christian Church and attended Max Creek Baptist Church.  She loved church and never missed attending until her health declined.  She enjoyed home decorating, knitting, crocheting, and cooking for family gatherings.  In addition, to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Eugene M. Miller, son Mark Beavers, and four brothers and five sisters.

 

Frankie is survived by a son, Jimmy Beavers, daughters, Carol Jones, Deborah Kemp, Sheila Justice, one very close sister Shirley and husband Don Crockett, six grandchildren, Shawn Beavers, Sabrina Black, Justin Kemp, Chad Kemp, Megan Justice, Kirsten Beavers.  Also surviving are four great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 12 Noon at Max Creek Baptist Church, 3000 Old Rte. 100 Rd, Draper, VA with the Rev. Mike Coleman officiating.  The services will conclude at the church. Entombment will be private, at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin.  Those serving as pallbearers are Justin Kemp, Chad Kemp, Shawn Beavers, Charles Justice, Gray Anthony and Charlie Kemp.  The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 12 Noon.

 

The family would like to especially thank Frankie’s caregivers that provided care for her in her home and thank Hospice of Wytheville Virginia and Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center for the care during her most needed time.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks to make donations to the Alzheimer’s Association online at alz.org, or to donate by phone at 800-272-3900.
