Obituary for Glenn Edward Poe

Glenn Edward Poe was born in Radford, December 14,1966 and regretfully Glenn passed away suddenly Wednesday, December 9, 2020. He was preceded in death by his loving father Vernon M. Poe, of Powhatan and two wonderful uncles, John T. Poe and Calvin C. Poe, both of Radford.

He was a loving son to his mother Inez Poe, a loving, devoted and supportive father to his sons Austin and Nathan Poe, and a loving and supportive brother and friend to his brothers David and Darryl Butler, all of Powhatan. He also leaves behind other family members, aunts, Glenna Poe, Radford, Kathy Poe Nunn, Greenville, NC, Mary Poe Cox, Radford; uncle, Allan C. Poe, Salem; cousins Calvin C. Poe II, Arlington and Morgan E. Poe, Radford and Elizabeth K. Nunn, Greenville, NC; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Southwest Virginia, N.C. and FL., who will never forget him.

Glenn did enjoy good times with his hunt club buddies and had a great love of the outdoors, but he was primarily a wonderful man whose main focus was his family. He was always smiling and had a kind word for everyone. He was the friend you wanted around in good times and the kind that you didn’t have to ask to be there during the bad times. He loved his family unconditionally and showed it in many ways. He will be forever in our hearts and our memories of him will make us smile, remembering his sweet ways and quiet strength.

We were Blessed to have you Glenn, as part of our family. Rest in peace and know you are loved beyond measure and will remain always in our hearts.

Submitted lovingly by the Poe and Butler Families.
