Obituary for Helen O’Dell Tolliver

Helen O’Dell Tolliver, age 85 of Shiloh, Virginia was peacefully carried home to Heaven in the arms of Jesus on January 28, 2023. Helen was born April 17, 1937 in Hiwassee, Virginia and is preceded in death by her father and mother, Edgar & Lula O’Dell; brothers Oren O’Dell and Hubert O’Dell; sisters Alma Hall, Ruth Foutz, Norma Myers and Sylvia Tiller; a great granddaughter Liyah Nicole.

She leaves behind her loving husband of 66 years, Garland R. Tolliver and her three daughters and sons-in-law, Robin and Bill Hurst of Shiloh,  Laverne Webb of Dublin, Valerie and Chuck Hayes of Radford.

Also surviving are her grandchildren, who she loved so proudly, Stephanie Webb Cressell of Dublin, Bryan and Ashlee Hayes of Radford, Kimberly and Sam Chrisley of Pulaski, Kevin and Mary Hayes of Manor, TX. Great Grandchildren Emily Hayes of TX, Conner Cressell of Dublin; sister Hazel and Duane Kesling of Pulaski and many nieces and nephews.

Helen was baptized July 21, 1962 into the full fellowship of the Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Hiwassee. Sister Helen was a devoted member and will be sadly missed. We shall meet again some sweet day.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM – Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at the Bower Funeral Home-Chapel, Pulaski with Elder Ronald Bowman officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Page-Dishon Family Cemetery, Snowville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:30 PM until service time.
