Obituary for Jackie “Dean” Moore

Jackie “Dean” Moore, 63, of Pulaski, VA passed away Tuesday Oct. 9th 2018 at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rebecca S. Moore. He was the son of the late James Leonard “Jack” Moore. Also surviving are his Mother, Geneva Moore, Brothers and Sisters in Law, David and Beth Moore and Barry and Becky Moore. Dean has one Daughter and Son in Law, Amy McBride and David, three grandchildren, Nikki and husband Stephen Bentley, Candice Shay and Christopher Shay. Great grandchild, Emmalynn Kate Bentley. Brothers in Law, William E. “Billy” Kirk, Michael Dale Kirk and wife Carol. Sister in Law, Mary Leigh StClair.

Dean was retired from Volvo Logistics and a former employee of United Citied Gas. He was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard, a member of the Newbern Community Christian Church, the Sportsman Club and an avid supporter of Virginia Tech sports and the Pulaski County High School football team. He loved kayaking, camping, tennis and anything about the outdoors.

Funeral services will be held Sunday Oct. 14th at 3pm from Stevens Funeral Home Chapel. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 till the service hour. Burial will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, with Rev. Jason Allmon, close friends Douglas Hedge reading a eulogy from Kim Goddard and Mark Grubb will be speaking and officiating. Pallbearers will be Darrell Armentrout, Brent Viers, Christopher Shay, Stephen Bentley, Gene Hurst, Michael Kirk and Tye Hancock.
