Obituary for James Warren “Jimmy” Cook

James Warren “Jimmy” Cook, 75, of Pulaski, formally of Draper, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lizzie Cook; brother, Jack of Draper; and also a sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Benny Frazier of Wytheville.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 57 years, Janie Midkiff Cook; son, Eddie Cook; daughters and sons-in-law, Michelle and Jeff Porterfield, and Lori Jeanne and Tony Gallimore; grandchildren and their spouses, Sarah Kate and Clinton Martin, and Matthew and Brittany Gallimore; great grandchild, Zakkary Gallimore; beloved brothers-in-law, Wendell Johnston and Tommy Midkiff, both of Staffordsville; sister, Linda Monday of Wytheville; brother, Billy Cook of Wytheville; lifelong friend, Kermit Sayers; and many other relatives and friends.

Jim loved the Lord and always felt that a good sermon was better than a steak dinner. He said he always knew when ‘church time’ was near because his soul was getting thirsty.

There will be a reception and Celebration of Life at 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 followed by a song service at Pulaski Presbyterian Church, 975 Memorial Drive, Pulaski, VA.
