Obituary for Mildred Eloise Bolen

Mildred Eloise Bolen passed away on Friday, February 9, 2018, at the age of 60.

A native of Pulaski, Mildred attended Radford University and graduated with a degree in Business.  She later went to Averett University to earn a Master of Business Administration degree. She spent years working in various accounting jobs, and she ended her working days employed at Barnes and Noble in Lynchburg, Virginia. Anyone who knew Mildred knows what a “book worm” she was and understands this was hardly a job for her.

Along with her affinity for books, Mildred’s true love in life was her animals.   She had a special bond with any animal she encountered, and her pets were truly family to her. Mildred enjoyed spending time with her family. Summer vacations to Myrtle Beach and family weekends at the lake were surely some of her fondest memories. Mildred valued her friends, and she lived life to the fullest through its simple pleasures.

Mildred is survived by her sister Alice (Larry) Fordham of Lynchburg, Virginia along with her nieces, Andra (Will) Bostic of Lynchburg, Virginia, and Laurel (Anthony) Pavia of Forest, Virginia, as well as her great-nieces and nephews, Sydney, Myleigh, and Mason Bostic; Branston and Aynsley Pavia. She was proceeded in death by her loving parents, Gerald and Lois Bolen. Since living back in Pulaski, Mildred was blessed by spending time with family and dear friends.

The family will receive visitors at the Family Life Center at First United Methodist Church from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018. A Celebration of Life for Mildred will be held immediately following visitation at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, for those wishing to make memorial contributions, please consider the Pulaski Moose Lodge #2087 and Women’s Chapter #2301 or the Pulaski Humane Society.

Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
