Obituary for Pastor James Donnie Weaver

Pastor James Donnie Weaver, age 83 of Dublin passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2021 at the Lewis-Gale Hospital, Pulaski. Born April 16, 1938 in Moultrie, Georgia he was the son of the late Murray Rollo Weaver and Mary Ethel Hamilton Weaver. He was also preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

He loved to spend time with his family, hunt, fish, garden and do carpentry, but his greatest love was ministering the gospel. His one last desire was to preach one more time and win one more soul for the kingdom!

He is survived by his 

Wife of 63 years – Clarice Vinson Weaver – Dublin

Children – Donald Alan (Lisa) Weaver – Hamilton, OH, Michael Scott (Kami) Weaver – Ypsilanti, MI, Kelly Weaver (Brian) Bishop – Pulaski

Grandchildren – Bethany (Mike) Favors, Stephanie (Matt) Aycoth, Andrew (Courtney) Weaver, Brook Weaver, Kori Weaver, Caroline Bishop and Hunter Bishop

Great Grandchildren – Harper Aycoth, Dean Aycoth, Case Weaver and Knox Weaver

Sister – Sue Chitty – Jacksonville, FL 

Several nieces and nephews 

The family will receive friends between 4:00-6:30 PM – Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Pulaski Church of God (1621 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski, VA 24301). Funeral services will start @ 7:00 PM following visitation with Rev. James D. Weaver’s sons and Pastor Donald Jones officiating. Services will be streamed on the Church’s Website and YouTube Channel. There will be reserved seating for Church of God ministers and for bus drivers of the Pulaski County School System.

The family wishes to give special thanks to the Medi Hospice and the Lewis-Gale Hospital, Pulaski nurses and doctors for the excellent care and attention given to their dad and grandfather in his final days here.

In lieu of flowers, and because of his love for children and youth, donations may be made to the Youth & Children’s Department of the Pulaski Church of God.
