Obituary for Patrick Curren Surratt
Patrick Curren Surratt, age 90 of Pulaski, died late Wednesday evening, September 23, 2020 at Lewis Gale Hospital – Pulaski. He was born on September 2, 1930 in Pulaski, and was the son of the late Martha Virginia Gott Surratt and the late Benjamin Franklin Surratt. “Pat” retired from the Pulaski County Department of Social Services as an eligibility tech. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a member of the First Christian Church (DOC) in Pulaski. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Jacquelyn Gallimore Surratt: a son; Benjamin Franklin “Frankie” Surratt and a daughter; Patricia Joyce Downing, and a daughter Denise Surratt . He is survived by his grandchildren: Kari Beth Sartin, Kristin Surratt, Emily Downing, and Stuart Downing. Also survived by three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. John Dunston officiating. i worked for the social services dept. many, many years ago when mr. surratt was a case worker. he was the ”nicest” one of all of them in that office. he always made time quickly for his clients that needed assistance and treated them with respect. all of the other case workers were women and they were shall i say ,,,, totally the opposite of mr. surratt… [may he rest in peace].
