Obituary for Romma “Harvey” Wade, Sr.

Romma “Harvey” Wade, Sr., age 84 of Pulaski passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at his home. He will be remembered for faithfully serving the Lord Jesus Christ and his church that he loved. He always helped anyone in need. He had a God given ability to fix anything. Anytime that he was asked “how are you doing”? – his response was, “Very Blessed”.

He faithfully served his country with the United States Army during the Korean War era. He worked many years in management at Burlington Industries, later named New River Textiles in Radford, Virginia. His hobby was restoring antique cars, especially his 1957 Chevrolet that won Senior Grand National. He was a Senior Master Judge.

He was preceded in death by his parents – Romma B. & Hettie Biggs Wade, wife – Shirley R. Wade, brother – Howard H. Wade, niece – Alice D. Wade and sister – Betty W. Price.

He is survived by his son – Romma Harvey Wade, Jr. & wife, Erin, daughter – Terri Wade Reese, special niece – Sandra Beasley, sister – Virginia Wade Leonard, grandchildren – Jessica Hoover and Matthew Ratcliffe, eight great grandchildren and many friends and special church family.

Memorial services will be held at 4:30 PM – Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Grace Baptist Church (552 Main Street, Dublin, VA 24084) with Pastor Doug Testerman officiating.

Donations in Harvey’s memory may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund.
