Ruth Alberta Martin, age 88 was completely healed and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, February 6, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husbands, William Curtis Coleman and John Martin; brothers, Emmett Allen and Bill Allen; sister, Bessie Johnson; and her parents. She is survived by two sons, Curtis (Allison) Coleman of Port Charlotte, Florida and Bobby (Nora Jean) Coleman of Dublin; stepdaughters, Judith Salmon, Barbara (Blaine) Martin and Doris (Lonnie) Quinn; grandsons, Bobby Jr. (Sherry) Coleman of Dublin and Justin (Sara) Coleman of Floyd. Also surviving are her six great-grandchildren, Haylee, Logan, Isaiah, Eli, Asher and Josiah Coleman; brother, Bob Allen; and sister, Lorraine Wiseman.
Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending Fairlawn Church of God and loved her church family very much. She loved to sit outdoors and watch the birds and squirrels while doing word search puzzles. Before having a stroke in 2007, she faithfully cared for many elderly.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon – Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the Fairlawn Church of God with Pastors Marcus Harrison and Justin Coleman officiating. The family will receive friends and visitors one hour prior to service. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, those who feel comfortable coming are asked to wear a mask. Burial will follow at Pleasant Dale Memorial Park in Fincastle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fairlawn Church of God.
