Obituary for Shirley Ellen Scott Giles
Shirley Ellen Scott Giles, age 82 of Parrott, died Thursday, July 9, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Pulaski County on April 1, 1938, and was the daughter of the late Hazel Minnick Scott and Grover Leonard Scott. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Mary Crowley, Janet Wicker, and Verda Fortune. She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Harry Reaford Giles, Sr. of Parrott: son: Harry Reaford Giles, Jr. of Parrott: daughter; Robin G. (Jerry) Thomas of Fairlawn: a sister; Norma (Billy) Stoots of Watertown, NY: three grandchildren; Michael (Clarinda) Thomas, Eric (Laura) Thomas, and Dustin (Tiffany) Thomas: four great-grandchildren; Braiden Thomas, Kolton Thomas, Easton Thomas, and Landry Thomas. Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Chad Dunford officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday at Seagles from Noon until 2:00 p.m. A private graveside committal service will be held on Monday at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. Aunt Shirley you were my favorite aunt you helped raise me from a baby. You will be missed terribly. Some of my favorite child hood memories were with you and Uncle Harry. My thoughts and prayers are with all the family during this difficult time. Rest in peace love you always. Wish I could have spent more time with you in your later years. Scott McCoy and family
