Obituary for Shirley Ray Kemp
Shirley Ray Kemp, 76, passed away at his home on Sunday, January 20, 2019. He was born on January 22, 1942 in Carroll Co. and was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Pierce Kemp and mother, Virginia Mae Kemp. He was a member of Farris Mines Christian Church in Allisonia, a place he loved. He worked as a supervisor for 29 years at Burlington Industries and later at Renfro in Pulaski, where he made so many close friends.

His wife and caregiver, Martha (Marty) Beckner Kemp. Daughter, Ashley Comerford and grandsons, Collin and Cole and their father Dr. Matthew Comerford of St. Augustine, FL. Daughter, Leslie Steger and husband William Steger of Allisonia and Granddaughter, Candace Linville and husband, Jon Linville and great-grand-daughter, Rachel Elizabeth of Hiwassee. His brother and friend, Lonnie Kemp and wife, Shirley, Pulaski. Sister-in-law, Brenda Viars and husband Mickey, Brothers-in-law, Jerry Beckner and wife, Janie and Lewis Beckner. Several nieces and nephews. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather and will be missed by all who knew him.

Funeral services will be at Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski on Wednesday, January 23rd at 2:00 PM with Pastor Dennis Trail officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour. Burial will follow the service at the Farris Mines Christian Church in Allisonia.
