Obituary for Sue Dalton Snow

Sue Dalton Snow, 84, of the Patterson Community, passed away, Monday, May 22, 2023. Born February 6, 1939, in Wythe County VA, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Lee Pickett Dalton and Herman Neal Dalton.

She enjoyed taking long rides in the countryside and going on vacation with her family. She was the co-owner/proprietor of the Patterson Market (often referred to as the store) from 1968 to 1987. She was a member of the Family Worship Center, the home church of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. She enjoyed listening to country music, Jimmy Swaggart and reading her bible.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her Husband Floyd Thomas “Hoot” Snow, sister Oakie Freeman, brothers, David Johnson Barnes, Glenn Walter Horton, Walter “Hobo” Dalton, Kermit “Pete” Dalton and Kelly Farmer.

Survivors include two sons,  Floyd Carl &  wife Melanie Brooks Snow of Dublin VA, and Robert “Whitey” & wife Bonnie Snow of Wytheville VA; two daughters, Bessie Lee & husband Steve Carrothers of Wytheville VA, and Alice & husband James “Ox” Hines of Barren Springs VA; two brothers Harold “Lum” & wife  Linda Dalton of Patterson VA, and Herman “Moley” & wife Sue Dalton of Patterson VA; sister, Daisy Kirk of Austinville VA; five Grandchildren; ten Great Grandchildren; five Great-Great Grandchildren, several Nieces & Nephews and a host of family & friends also survive.

Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at 7 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home in Austinville VA, with Rev. Doug Snow and Rev Tom Warren officiating.

Friends may call Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at the Reese Funeral Home in Austinville VA. Graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Horton Cemetery at 11. A.M. in Patterson.
