Obituary for Tamara Joy Blue Wingo
Tamara Joy Blue Wingo, age 63 of Dublin, died Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at her residence. She was born in Homestead, FL on December 2, 1958, and is the daughter of Fabia Carol Oskierko Blue, and the late Clyde McNeil Blue, Jr.
Tammy was known by many as “the flower lady”. She loved her yard and all of her beautiful flowers and plants. She had many clients in the New River Valley, as she was a hard worker, and adored every one of them. She was always bringing fresh flowers from her yard to people around town, and always gave her best at the homes of her clients.
Tammy was a unique, one of a kind woman, with her witty, funny, silly, personality. She was loved by many, and could always bring a smile to anyone’s face. She absolutely loved eccentric things, and filled her home with them. She was beautiful, energetic and so full of life! She was always bragging on her two daughters, Stashia and Cady, and absolutely adored her son-in-law, Bobby.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Lloyd Wingo. She is survived by her two daughters: Cady Lynn Farmer of Woodlawn, Va., and Stashia Kristine Martinez, and her husband Bobby of Blacksburg: brother; Jody Blue.

The writer’s description of Tammy’s personality is spot on. When she was here we got more gossip and laughing accomplished than planting. Tammy refreshingly had no filter. Yes, she truly did care for and was loyal to her many clients, no matter the job assignment. We will all miss her.

My Tuesdays will never be the same again and Billy Blair and I will miss her. Tammie filled our Tuesdays with laughter and knowledge. I especially loved watching and listening to tales Tammie and Billy Blair shared about their times working at The Flower Shoppe together. She taught me so much about flowers and gave me pointers on what bulbs to plant when and where. We had great plans for future flower beds in the yard, and we will finish them Tammie, I know you will be looking down and watching as well as guiding us. I will carry on my dear friend, but you will always be my garden angel. I am going to miss you my tye dyed loving, peace sign wearing flower child friend. I can’t wait for the first blooms of all the beautiful plants that you planted just a week before you left us. I know you will continue to Dig’em in Gods Garden.
