William Elijah McNeely age 87 of Barren Springs VA passed away Friday January 22, 2021. He was born June 13, 1933 in Barren Springs VA the son of the late James Swanson & India Martin McNeely.
He was preceded in death by 2 wives Kathleen Hawkins McNeely & Marie Hines McNeely, 5 children, infant twin daughters, William Jackie McNeely, Jimmie Lee McNeely & his infant twin brother, & Ray McNeely, 2 brothers Daniel C McNeely & John Wayne McNeely.
William was a member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church
He is survived by.

Several nieces, nephews, & a host of extended family & friends also survive.
A funeral service will be held Monday January 25, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Riverview Church of God with Rev Eddie Dalton officiating, interment will follow in the Webb/Martin Cemetery in Carroll County, there will be no public visitation held at the church or the funeral home.
All persons attending the service are required to wear a facial covering and practice social distancing to comply with COVID-19 regulations & restrictions. The McNeely family & Highland Funeral Staff asks that if you have COVID like symptoms, please do not attend the services. Please remember that a warm smile & a kind word can be as meaningful to the family as a handshake or hug during these difficult times.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asks that those who prefer may make memorial donations to the Glenwood United Methodist Church or to the charity of their choice in memory of William.

I am saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. I have enjoyed many years of fellowship with him through Amateur Radio. Which, he maintained high enthusiasm for the hobby until his passing. He will be missed by all who knew him. May God comfort the family at this difficult time.

Bill McNeely was a great guy to work with at school and to be around in general. He was always positive and had a good word for everyone.
