Oklahoma adds Georgia assistant Shane Beamer to staff
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma has hired Georgia assistant Shane Beamer as assistant head coach for offense.
Oklahoma made the announcement in a news release on Tuesday.
Beamer also will coach Oklahoma’s tight ends and H-backs. He was the special teams coordinator and tight ends coach at Georgia the past two seasons. Oklahoma coach Lincoln Riley says Beamer will also help assistant coach Jay Boulware oversee the special teams.
Beamer was associate head coach and running backs coach at Virginia Tech for five years before joining Georgia’s staff. Before that, he was an assistant coach at South Carolina and Mississippi State.
Beamer played for his father, Frank, at Virginia Tech in the late 1990s.
