PC Middle School Principal, Joyce, leaving for Galax job

The Patriot has learned that Adam Joyce, named last May as the first principal for the new Pulaski County Middle School, has resigned to take a new job in the Galax School System.

Joyce previously served as principal of Dublin Middle School for five years before taking over this school year as the principal of Pulaski Middle School.

The switch to PMS was made to provide Joyce with the opportunity to establish a working relationship with faculty and staff members from both schools prior to the opening of the combined middle school next fall.

During this school year Joyce has been in charge of leading the middle school consolidation effort by coordinating joint faculty meetings, planning collaborative middle school professional development sessions, building a master schedule for PCMS, and overseeing the eventual move from both current middle schools.

At Galax, Joyce will serve in the new position of Director of Instruction in that city’s school system.

He will start his new position in the coming weeks.
