PCHS congratulates winter sports teams for successes

Pulaski County High School wishes to Congratulate our winter sports teams for their recent successes.  Under very difficult circumstances our players, coaches and trainers persevered and experienced many successes.  Below are some of those.

Swim: The PCHS swim team competed in the Class 4 Region D swim meet last Tuesday February 3rd at Christiansburg Aquatic Center.  While no individual swimmers qualified for the state swim meet, several swimmers set personal records this year in the pool.
Wrestling: The PCHS wrestling team competed at Amherst County HS this past weekend and performed very well.  The Cougars qualified 4 wrestlers for the state tournament.  Xavier Ramsey (Region Champ), Gavin Warner (2nd Place), Nicholaus Golden (2nd Place) and Damion Fowlkes (2nd Place) finished in the top two and will wrestle Saturday February 20th in the state meet.  The following wrestlers finished in the top four and are alternates for the state wrestling meet.  Evan Alger (3rd Place), Jacob Crabtree (4th Place), Connor Gallimore (4th Place), Zeke Surber (3rd Place), Parker Midkiff (3rd Place) and Molly Keller (4th Place).

Indoor Track:  The PCHS Indoor Track team competed in the Region Indoor Track meet on Tuesday February 9th.  The boys team finished as Region Runner-Up a mere five points behind the Region Championship team.  The girls team placed a surprising 3rd place considering only four girls competed at the regional meet. Region meet information attached below.
Sideline Cheer:  We sincerely appreciate our winter cheer squad as they have been limited in their ability to be on the floor encouraging our team, leading chants and bringing that Cougar Spirit to our games.  However, restrictions couldn’t curb their enthusiasm as they found creative ways to support our teams and impact the home games.
Boys Basketball:  The PCHS Boys Basketball team played an extremely tough schedule and somehow found a way to play a full 14 game schedule and earn a #2 seed in the Region D basketball tournament.  The Cougars will host Halifax County in the region semi-finals on Wednesday today at 3 pm at PCHS.
Girls Basketball:  The PCHS Lady Cougars Basketball team finished the regular season undefeated and earned the #1 seed in Class 4 Region D.  The Lady Cougars host Salem HS in a semi-final game tonight at 6 pm at PCHS.
