Pioneers wallop Bears, 105-51
On Friday the Varsity Boys Basketball Team hosted the Bland County Bears at the Fort and were victorious 105-51 on strong performances from Eli Eversole and Owen Jackson. Eversole put up a career night with 19 points and 10 rebounds while Jackson did his normal thing but not really normal at all by scoring 38 points in two quarters of play. Jackson poured in 21 points during the first quarter and ended his night busting four 3-pointers. Ty Crocket also had a great night shooting as he hit three long distance shots, scored 12 points, and tallied 10 assists.
FC got out to a 69-34 lead at halftime and never looked back in a total team effort as Kenton Sutphin added 10 total points and was aided in the scoring column by Cade Mcpherson with 7, Seth Petrunyak 6, Mason Cirba 6, Jesse Ayers 4, and Caleb Brown 3.
Bland County also did some scoring as Gavin Lance tossed-in 14 while teammates Benjamin Davis and Elliot Miller notched 10 apiece for the Bears. With the win the Pioneers improve to 11 wins and 5 losses with one game at Grayson on Friday on tap for next week.
