Pulaski River Turtles Drops Game To Princeton WhistlePigs After Late Score

Pulaski River Turtles stayed in it until the end, but Princeton WhistlePigs pulled away late in a 9-8 victory on Friday. The game was tied at eight with Princeton WhistlePigs batting in the top of the ninth when Lucas Reed induced Andrew Brait to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

Pulaski River Turtles lost despite out-hitting Princeton WhistlePigs 12 to ten.

Pulaski River Turtles captured the lead in the first inning. Pulaski River Turtles scored two runs when Conner Gore doubled.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Pulaski River Turtles tied things up at eight when Jackson Beamon singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Princeton WhistlePigs scored three runs in the sixth inning. Popa and Brady Day each had RBIs in the big inning.

Zane Probst led the Princeton WhistlePigs to victory on the pitcher’s mound. The righthander allowed one hit and zero runs over two and a third innings, striking out three and walking zero. Taylor Catton threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Zach Hise started the game for Pulaski River Turtles. Hise allowed seven hits and five runs over five innings, striking out four and walking one Justin Showalter started the game for Princeton WhistlePigs. The pitcher allowed eight hits and seven runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking zero
