Registration deadline for GO Pulaski County Service Day extended
2019 marks the 4th Annual Go Pulaski County county-wide service day to be held on Saturday, September 21st. Projects are being lined up around the county – in Draper, Fairlawn, Dublin, Pulaski, and county locations. Currently we have 15 projects being planned, but the secret ingredient is our Volunteers!
There is a type of project for everyone – even young children! When one signs up with information on skills, areas of interest, age, etc., our Volunteer Coordinator will then match volunteers to the right project. Then, prior to the actual service day, all volunteers will be advised of their project and any necessary clothing or tools to bring. Lunch is provided for everyone as well as food at check-in and and snacks and drinks for the project site. Groups are welcome, such a clubs, youth groups, sports teams, college fraternities, etc. – especially any individuals or groups who are looking for 4-6 service hours. Volunteers and Project Leaders will start the day with a check-in process at 8:00 am at their assigned “hub” location. This year we are thankful for First Pentecostal Holiness Church in Pulaski and Dublin United Methodist Church in Dublin for serving as our hub/check-in sites.
Some of the projects for 2019 include: Pulaski County Christmas Store, Smoke Detector installations in homes, The Crayon Initiative, Project Linus, Pulaski County High School Batting Cage & Concession Stand, Pulaski Youth Center, The Calfee Center, and Friends of Peak Creek, just to name a few.
If interested in volunteering to serve, one may go to the Go Pulaski County website (www.gopulaskicounty.org/volunteer) for the on-line registration form. Registration deadline is August 31, 2019. Go Pulaski County is open to all residents of Pulaski County and surrounding areas.
