River Turtles fall hard in opener, 12-4
The Pulaski River Turtles went down to defeat Thursday night in Calfee Park, 12-4 at the hands of the Johnson City Doughboys in both teams’ 2026 Appalachian League opener.
The Doughboys jumped out in front 7-0 before the Turtles could score.
Leading 7-4 in the ninth, Johnson City tacked on five insurance runs to make the final 12-4.
The two teams go at it again Friday night at Calfee. Gametime is 7 p.m. They close out the three-game series on Saturday at 7 p.m.
After an off day Sunday, Pulaski travels to Burlington on Monday night.
