Santa’s Big Red Express Rolls Through Pulaski County December 15–18
New Santa Tracker Launches in Partnership with DAK Lights
Pulaski County, VA – December 10, 2025 – Get ready, Pulaski County—Santa Claus is trading in his sleigh for something a bit bigger and louder! Santa’s Big Red Express is returning December 15–18, bringing holiday cheer straight to neighborhoods across the county. This annual tradition, powered by Pulaski County Parks & Recreation and Pulaski County Fire & Rescue, brings Santa right to your block for a magical Christmas drive-by.
This year includes an exciting new feature: a live Santa Tracker, created in partnership with DAK LIGHTS. Families can follow Santa’s exact location each evening at www.santasbigredexpress.com, which will be active during event hours Monday through Thursday.
Neighborhood Schedule
- Monday, December 15: Fairlawn
- Tuesday, December 16: Dublin
- Wednesday, December 17: Pulaski
- Thursday, December 18: Draper, Snowville & Hiwassee
From Monday through Wednesday, the Big Red Express will offer drive-by-and-wave opportunities. Families are encouraged to step onto their porches or sidewalks and share their biggest holiday smiles as Santa rolls by.
On Thursday, children will have the special opportunity to meet Santa up close:
- 6:00 PM – Snowville Fire Department
- 7:00 PM – O’Dell Park (Hiwassee)
A Community Tradition
“This event has become one of our favorite traditions of the season,” said Jenna Kinder, Assistant Director of Parks & Recreation. “Seeing families bundle up, step outside, and wave to Santa from their front porches reminds us what community is all about. We’re thrilled to make it easier than ever for families to know exactly when Santa will be in their neighborhood with our new real-time Santa Tracker.”
Pulaski County’s beloved Big Red vehicle is once again Santa’s official ride for the week, thanks to the partnership with Pulaski County Fire & Rescue.
“Our department is always excited to help bring holiday joy to families across Pulaski County,” said Fire Chief Brandon Hamblin. “Big Red is a community favorite, and there’s no better mission than loaning it to Santa so he can visit as many children as possible.”
