Shirley J. Crisp

Shirley J. Crisp, 84, departed this life on Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at the LewisGale Hospital, Salem, Va.

Shirley was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Della Crisp. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Dennis, Douglas, Donald, Richard and Samuel Crisp Jr. and one sister, Alice E. Crisp.

Shirley was a graduate of Christiansburg Institute, Christiansburg, Va. She later attended business school in Washington, D.C. Shirley was married to Julian Perry Black and from this union was born two children, Kimberly and Brian Black. Shirley accepted Christ at an early age as a result of a loving and faithful upbringing.

After a lengthy stay in the Washington, D.C. area, Shirley returned to Pulaski where she worked as a CNA. Afterwards she took loving care of her mother until her demise. She was a longtime resident of Pulaski, Va.

Shirley leaves to cherish her memory her beloved daughter, Kimberly; devoted son, Brian; dearly loved grandson Julian; sisters, Mary L. Alexander (Murhl), Dorothy P. Johnson and Delzora Williams along with numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
