State Police arrest two in Dublin on drug and other charges
On Saturday, July 27, 2019, Virginia State Police Sergeant D.D. Johnson and Trooper D.L. Vaughn conducted a traffic stop on a 1991 Volvo sedan for an equipment violation on West Main Street near Route 100 in Dublin. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the passenger of the vehicle, Nicholaus Wines, was wanted in multiple jurisdictions, to include New Jersey, on outstanding warrants. During the course of the traffic stop, drug paraphernalia was observed inside the vehicle and a probable cause search followed.
During the search several small baggies of a white crystal substance (suspected methamphetamine) and 2 small baggies of a white powdery substance (suspected heroin) were seized. An unknown liquid substance in a syringe was also seized as evidence during the search. The evidence seized in the course of this investigation has been sent to The Virginia Department of Forensic Science to be analyzed.
The driver of the vehicle, Taylor Botts, 27, of Salem, VA was arrested for possession of Methamphetamine. The passenger, Nicholaus Wines, 35, of Dublin, VA was arrested for possession of Methamphetamine along with the
6 outstanding warrants.
