Three arrested in Wythe County narcotics investigation

The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office has been conducting an ongoing investigation over the past several months involving narcotics being brought into our county. This operation has focused on drug dealers that have been 4 15 narcotics e1649951956147funneling methamphetamine into Wythe County poisoning our communities. Through controlled drug buys and gaining information over the past several months the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office has been able to arrest 3 major drug dealers coming into our county to supply methamphetamine.

On April 12, 2022, the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Antonio Isaiah Reynold DOB 3/17/1999 of Roanoke, Virginia after he brought 181 grams of methamphetamine into Wythe County to sell. While trying to flee the area he struck a Wythe County Sheriff’s vehicle. He was arrested and charged with possessing 100 or more grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute. If found guilty he faces a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 20 years and a fine of up to $1,000,000.

On April 13, 2022, the Wythe County Sheriff’s Office arrested Aaron Darnell Edwards DOB 9/13/2001, and Qunzell Gavan Payne DOB 3/24/2022 of Princeton and Bluefield, West Virginia after they brought 2,900 grams (6lbs) of methamphetamine into Wythe County to sell. During their arrest deputies found them to also be in possession of a Smith and Wesson 9 mm loaded handgun. They both were charged with the distribution of methamphetamine of 250 grams or more which is punishable by a mandatory minimum of 40 years to life in prison.

The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office has seized over 2900 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $300,000 this week. The Wythe County Sheriff’s Office will continue to target drug dealers bringing narcotics into our community.
