Roanoke, VA – February 25, 2022 – The Forest Service is hiring hundreds of foresters and forestry technicians across the nation. Forester jobs are open for applications February 25, 2022 through March 7, 2022. Forestry technician jobs are open for applications March 11, 2022 through March 21, 2022. Jobs are available in a variety of locations, including on the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.

The George Washington and Jefferson National Forests, nearly 1.8 million acres, lies in Western Virginia and small parts of West Virginia and Kentucky. It is one of the largest blocks of public land in the eastern United States. The Forest Supervisor’s Office is headquartered in Roanoke. The forests include the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area and seven Ranger Districts and are managed for multiple uses.
