VDOT Traffic Alert: Extended ramp closure scheduled at I-81’s Exit 105

SALEM – An extended ramp closure will be in place over the next two weeks for the New River Bridge project at exit 105 on I-81.

The exit ramp on I-81 north at mile marker 105 onto Route 232 will be closed for extended periods from Monday, May 4 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, May 7 at 5 p.m. and Monday, May 11 at 7 a.m. until Thursday, May 14 at 5 p.m. Drivers will need to find alternate locations to exit the interstate and access Route 232.

In addition, periodic slow rolls are possible within the work zone and the speed limit is reduced to 60 mph. There is also an 11-foot width restriction in place.

Message boards will alert drivers and drivers should use caution in the work zone.
