Virginia State Police investigating fatal fire in Carroll County

State Police logoHILLSVILLE – At the request of the Laurel Fork Fire Department, the Virginia State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation Wytheville Field Office is investigating a double fatal fire that occurred yesterday (Oct. 29, 2026) at approximately 5:24 p.m. in the Hillsville section of Carroll County.

 

VSP was contacted to investigate because of the fatalities.

 

At this time, the fire does not appear to be suspicious.

 

Identifications are pending.

 

The fire remains under investigation.
