VSP position statement on the value of law enforcement partnerships

RICHMOND, VA — Law enforcement partnerships are essential to effective public safety. The Virginia State Police have long worked alongside local, state, and federal partners in support of clearly defined public safety objectives. These partnerships are purpose-driven and carefully tailored to specific mission needs, ranging from combating violent crime to disrupting drug distribution networks.

Our focus remains on identifying and dismantling criminal enterprises that threaten the safety, dignity, and well-being of all who live in and travel through the Commonwealth of Virginia. We will continue to evaluate all partnerships through the lens of public safety necessity, legal authority, and professional responsibility.
