With Greever On The Mound, Pulaski County Shuts Out Carroll County

HILLSVILLE – Laken Greever didn’t allow a single run against Carroll County, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Pulaski County’s Lady Cougars to a 1-0 victory on Monday in Hillsville.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Greever struck out 12, while Emma Leath sat down 14 for the Lady Cavs.

Pulaski County got things started in the second inning when an error allowed Emily Webb to eventually score the game’s only run for the Lady Cougars.

One bright spot for Carroll County was a single by Eliza Wood in the fourth inning.

Both Greever and Leath threw complete games. Greever allowed only three hits and two walks in the game, while Leath allowed four hits and one walk.

Webb led the Lady Cougars Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

The win raised the Lady Cougars’ record to 7-2.

Pulaski County goes on the road again on Wednesday when they travel to Abingdon to play the Lady Falcons at 6:30 p.m.
