PEARISBURG –  Today, Delegate Jason Ballard announced he has been endorsed by the National Rifle Association (NRA) in his re-election campaign for Delegate in the new 42nd House of Delegates District. The National Rifle Association has given Delegate Ballard an “A” rating for his strong defense of the Second Amendment. Delegate Ballard has a perfect voting record defending the Second Amendment and is the General Assembly’s strongest advocate for the protection of gun rights.

According to the Virginia Citizens Defense League’s post-session rankings of members’ voting records on Second Amendment issues, Delegate Jason Ballard received the highest rating in both chambers for his unwavering support and defense of the Second Amendment.

“I am grateful for the continued support of the NRA and gun owners throughout the New River Valley,” said Delegate Jason Ballard. “As a Veteran and avid hunter, I understand the importance of defending our right to bear arms. As a member of the Public Safety Committee and the “Gun Sub” subcommittee, I am on the frontlines defending our Second Amendment rights from infringement by radical Democrats in the General Assembly. I have always been – and will continue to be – the Second Amendment’s strongest advocate in Richmond.”

“On behalf of NRA members in Virginia House District 42, I am pleased to announce your NRA-PVF “A” rating and endorsement for the 2023 Virginia House District 42 nomination,”  said NRA-ILA State Director D. J. Spiker. “This endorsement is a reflection of your steadfast support of the Second Amendment and excellent voting record on firearm-related issues during your tenure in the General Assembly. As a member of the House Public Safety Committee and Subcommittee #1, your efforts have been critical in stopping the repeated attempts at infringing on our Second Amendment freedoms.”
