Graham: Rumors of school shutdown and move to virtual instruction due to COVID untrue

PC SChools roundDear Pulaski County Public School Community,

It has come to my attention that there is a rumor spreading throughout Pulaski County that the school division is going to shut down and move to our virtual platform due to a, “Rampant outbreak of COVID cases.” Please know that PCPS has no plans to move to our virtual platform and will do everything possible to keep in-person learning available during the 2023-2024 school year. In fact, we will not shut down in-person learning unless we are required by the Commonwealth or receive a recommendation from the New River Valley Health Department (NRVHD) to do so. We are committed to keeping our schools open as we know how important it is for the health, well-being, academic and instructional needs of all students in grades PK-12.

If there are any questions concerning this matter, please call me at 540-994-2519.

Sincerely,

Mr. Robert Graham
