Donald Ted Anderson, of Pulaski Virginia, born September 13, 1939, passed on to his heavenly home, on June 29, 2023, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He is proceeded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Jo Anderson of Pulaski, VA.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Harper Anderson, son Mark Harper Anderson and wife, Joanne Anderson, of Bethlehem PA, daughter Julie Anderson Britt and husband Michael Britt, of Huntersville NC, three grandchildren, Andrea Anderson, Robert Anderson, and Jack Britt, brother Lewis Carter Anderson, and his wife Betty Anderson of Fairlawn VA, nephews Jeff Anderson and Jonathan Anderson. He is also survived by many cousins, and dear friends from high school, military, and the community.

Ted was born in Grayson County, Virginia and loved his family’s home place. After graduating from Dublin High School, he joined the Marine Corps and later graduated from Virginia Tech. He was first and foremost, a Marine. He was passionate about the military and took immense pride in his military experience and his allegiance to his country. He loved sports, was an avid Cougar and Hokie fan, and loved the outdoors. He took great pleasure in fishing, hunting, but mostly, hanging out with many great friends. His friends meant the world to him. Just like he dealt with all experiences in his life, he managed his illnesses with strength and courage. During that last week of his life, he was surrounded by close friends and family who rallied around him to provide support and love.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday Evening, July 13, from 6:00 to 8:00 at Norris Funeral Services, Pulaski Chapel located at 815 Randolph Avenue. Funeral Services will be held Thursday morning July 14 at 9:30 in the chapel of Norris Funeral Services with Pastor Josh Kilbourne officiating. Interment will follow at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Disabled Veterans Association, St. Jude’s Hospital for Children or American Heart Association.

The family is in the care of Norris Funeral Services, Pulaski Chapel.
