Pulaski County Friends of the Library to Host Fall Harvest Book Sale on October 5th and 6th

Please join the Pulaski County Friends of the Library (FOL) as they host their October book sale.  The two-day sale will take place on Friday and Saturday, October 5th and 6th at their Book Sale Store in downtown Pulaski, across the street from the Pulaski Library.  Friday’s sale runs from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  The Saturday sale is 10 a.m. until 1 p.m.  Watch for the large bookstore sign!

Our very successful community-wide book drive in August produced a large number of new and exciting additions to our book collection.  In addition, new DVDs and CDs have been added to our sales.  Most hardback books sale for only a $1 each and paperbacks for $.50.  Many children’s books are available for sale as well, priced at 5 for a $1. Book bag totes are given to purchasers of 7 or more books.

The Friends of the Library are a non-profit community organization whose main purpose is to support the many activities and programs of the Pulaski County Library System.  Through the sale of used books donated to the Friends, they are able to provide valuable financial assistance to the library system, such as the summer reading program.

The Board of the Friends would like to encourage Pulaski area residents to join our organization and help advance the reading opportunities in the community.  Please visit either county library for more membership information.  The Friends’ Annual Membership Dinner Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 16th at the Pulaski Train Station starting at 6 p.m.  Dr. Carolyn L. Matthews, Professor of English at Radford University, will be our keynote speaker.  Reservations are needed.  New members are encouraged to bring membership applications and annual dues to the meeting.  Members joining in October will get 15 months of membership included.

For additional information on the book sale or for an opportunity to donate your books, please contact either Lance Hudnall, book sale coordinator at (276) 728-4626 or Buddy Johnston at (540) 320-1128.
